A Multifaith Celebration of Community

The Mornington Peninsula Shire, and the Order of Australia Association, invites all community members to attend a free “Celebration of Community” service. Councillor Brian Stahl said the special multi-faith service to be held at Peninsula Community Theatre on Sunday June 21st will recognise the important contribution of community groups, churches, multi-faith believers and the recognition of award recipients within the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

The Order of Australia Association is responsible for awarding the Order of Australia Awards. These Awards are announced on Australia Day and the Queen’s Birthday each year and this occasion will publicly recognise our local award recipients. The Service will include an Indigenous welcome and smoking ceremony, music, singing, recognition of the Order of Australia recipients and school presentations.

The Mornington Peninsula Interfaith Network will organise blessings from various faith traditions on the Peninsula.
